Perched high on mountaintops, manned fire towers provide an excellent viewpoint for spotting wildfires. Popular in the 1900s, many like the Glorieta Baldy Lookout Tower are unutilized these days.
Join us and visit the Glorieta Baldy Lookout Tower, built in 1940, and staffed until the 1990s. Take a scenic and moderately challenging ride, ascending over 3,000 feet and across four vegetation zones. Enjoy the expansive views from our turnaround point at 10,200 feet. This tour is particularly striking in the fall when the aspens are changing color.
