Santa Fe Entices Visitors with Its New Developments

It’s an exciting summer for Santa Fe and its visitors as many developments are approaching completion. The Railyard, the Santa Fe Convention Center, and the new Rail Runner train service will provide visitors more event space, things to see, and ways to get there.

Already reshaping the look of the Historic Guadalupe Street district near the plaza, the Railyard project includes 13 acres of beautifully landscaped space including a plaza, performance area, pedestrian and biking promenade, live-work studio space, a new retail complex and theatre centre, and a permanent home for the popular Santa Fe Farmers Market. The grand opening weekend starts September 12th. This event could be a great way to enhance our Outdoors Lover’s Culinary Adventure week happening September 8-12th. Check out all the Railyard details at www.sfrailyardcc.org

The Railyard will be one of the three station locations for the New Mexico Rail Runner Express train! Service will begin from the historic station in the Railyard towards the end of this year and will provide multiple runs per day between Santa Fe, Albuquerque and towns farther south. This development will provide a low-cost and possibly nostalgic transportation alternative for your visits to Santa Fe. Find out more about this fun two-tiered train at www.nmrailrunner.com.

Also among the recent developments of Santa Fe, the new Convention Center is quite an impressive structure. It houses 40,000 square feet of event space and adds 512 much needed underground parking spaces to the downtown area. The building will open to the public in October this year, but starting in August, visitors will find the Santa Fe Convention and Visitors Bureau’s information center at the new building located on the corner of Grant and Marcy.
