Our Mission and Team
Santa Fe Mountain Adventures is managed by experienced staff, adventure leaders and an advisory board of tourism, destination management, hospitality, experiential education, personal development and marketing experts. The Santa Fe Mountain Adventures program is developed in partnership with Outside, America's leading active lifestyle magazine. Outside, which is headquartered in Santa Fe and has a strong connection to northern New Mexico, shares our vision for adventurous travel that fuels a healthy lifestyle.

He retired early from Accenture, in 2002, to spend more time with his family and to pursue a second career aligned with his passions of outdoor adventure, destination management, health and fitness. Since then, Owen has studied Exercise Physiology and Outdoor Education, and is an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certified Health Fitness Instructor. Owen is also certified in Wilderness First Aid. His hobbies include hiking, running, biking, skiing, triathlons and travel. He has climbed many fourteeners in Colorado, summited Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2007 and trekked to Macchu Pichu in 2012.
Owen is a member of the Board of Directors for the Santa Fe Mountain Center, a non-profit organization that uses experiential adventure programs to promote personal discovery and social change for at-risk youth, families and groups.

Prior to coming to Santa Fe Mountain Adventures, Kerry worked as the Outreach Specialist for REI and as an independent contractor helping plan events and coordinate volunteer efforts for numerous non-profits. Kerry has been working as an event planner for over twelve years and has had the great fortune to organize many amazing events involving business moguls, celebrities and cool venues. Since moving to Santa Fe eight years ago, Kerry has also immersed herself into fitness and the outdoors, becoming a certified Fitness Trainer, Red Cross Instructor and Outdoor Recreation Instructor. Kerry is very involved in the Trails Alliance of Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Fat Tire Society. She works hard to promote and gain new trail access as well as volunteering throughout the year on trail maintenance.
Kerry lives in Santa Fe with her husband and her two shelter dogs. She loves to be active and enjoys being outdoors year-round hiking, running, cycling, mountain biking, backpacking, skiing or snowshoeing.
Adventure Partners
Do you remember a time when the skies were darker, the stars brighter and the wonder and awe of the night sky was enough to captivate the imagination? Astronomy Adventures does. And New Mexico still has skies that are clear and dark enough to explore the many fascinating jewels of the night. Astronomy Adventures, offering entertaining and educational night sky tours, serves the curious traveler seeking to find experiences that go far beyond the ordinary. Telescopes and binoculars provided.
Bishop's Lodge Stables
Bishop's Lodge Stables offers scenic guided trail rides through the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains. They provide a "dude ranch"- like atmosphere and western-style rides with friendly wranglers and gentle horses on trails with inspiring vistas. An orientation prior to the ride is provided by knowledgeable wranglers and instruction is given on the trail.
Mellow Velo
Mellow Velo has mountain bikes, road bikes, city cruisers and kids' bikes! Take a relaxing city ride through the historic district and shop or sightsee. Trail riding today? Mellow Velo is only a short bicycle ride to miles of intense intermediate singletrack.
New Wave Rafting Company
New Wave offers raft trips from mild to wild on the Rio Grande and Rio Chama. Funyaks (inflatable kayaks) are available in low water. You participate by paddling. Since 1980, New Wave has run the "tightest ship" on the Rio Grande, with the best guides, best equipment and best service.
The Reel Life
The Reel Life, an Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Outfitter and Guide Service, offers guided fly fishing on exclusive private ranches and in the Santa Fe National Forest. The Reel Life is passionate about providing positive outdoor experiences for its clients--a big smile at the end of the day is the guides' greatest reward.
Santa Fe School of Cooking
The Santa Fe School of Cooking celebrates the historic traditions and food of New Mexico. As culinary ambassadors, the instructors strive to introduce guests to regional cooking, local agriculture, restaurants, and producers of locally packaged foods. The school offers demonstration classes covering everything from traditional New Mexican to Native American and Mexican cuisine (each includes recipes and a full meal), as well as hands-on experiences. The school's unique relationships with farmers and producers allow it to offer the finest and freshest ingredients in the classroom and for sale in its market.
Wild Earth Llama Adventures
Wild Earth Llama Adventures offers custom-designed llama treks and gourmet lunch day hikes for all ages and fitness levels in the seldom-visited wilderness areas of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains near Taos and Santa Fe.
